Scanning Settings
There are a number of settings that can be adjusted with respect to how the aPlus+ Attendacne scanning module behaves.
To access these settings, navigate to "Admin -> Plugins -> Plugin Settings", then expand "Capture Records"
aPlus+ can convert time attended (based on scans) to the pro rated points value of a session. This option requires some careful setup accross many parts of the system, please speak with your aPlus+ rep if this is of interest.
Leave blank, or enter a number of minutes to add to the rounded time attended, for the purpose of the points calculation. Default: blank (equivalent to 0)
Set to Yes to automatically have the points value of manually edited attendance records calculated based on the time in and out. Defaults to 'No'.
Leave blank, or enter a number of minutes (including 0) to subtract from the session finish time, which later times will be rounded down to, for the purpose of the points calculation. Specifying a number enables the rounding. Default: blank - means no rounding.
If a number of minutes is specified for this setting, arrival times within that number of minutes from the session start will be rounded down to the session start time. This essentially says 'if a scan is around the start of the session based points on the start of the session'. For the purpose of points calculation. Default: blank (equivalent of 0)
Leave blank, or enter a number of minutes (including 0) to add to the session start time, which earlier times will be rounded up to, for the purpose of the points calculation. Specifying a number enables the rounding. Default: blank - means no rounding.
Set to Yes to not require a time in recorded, in order to calculate a points value. If there is no scan in, the session start time will be used as the scan in time for the purpose of the points calculation. Default: No.
Set to Yes to not require a time out recorded in order to calculate a points value. If there is no scan out, the session finish time will be used as the scan out time for the purpose of the points calculation. Default: No.
If the live capture should use a different provider code, specify it here. Default: NFC
The name of the attendance status which will be applied automatically if a student's attendance is not otherwise set. This must match an enabled attendance status. This will only be applied if the absent code schedule is enabled
This setting is 'Yes' by default which means that a session can only have the absent status set automatically if at least one student has successfully scanned resulting in attendance being recorded. Otherwise, no absent statuses will be set. This is to prevent absent statuses from being set automatically for sessions which have not had any students scan (possibly cancelled session or some other change). Default: 'Yes'.
Only apply the absent status automatically for sessions which have finished by this number of minutes (i.e. the duration of the session plus this). Default: 0. Note that if a session does not have a duration specified, then a duration of 60 minutes is assumed.
Set to Yes to ignore the location of scans and sessions when matching scans to sessions. By default this is 'No' which means the location of the session must match the location of the scan.
If a number is specified for this setting, the automated recording of scan out times will first check if the scan out time is within X seconds of the existing scan in time, and if so the attendance record will not be updated with this scan out time. Default: blank (equivalent of 0).
Specify a wildcard value such as '*' to enable wildcard matching. When enabled a scan will match any session which has this wildcard set as it's location regardless of the actual scan location. Default: blank (wildcard not enabled).
Set to Yes to record any enrolled student to have attendance recorded, even if not otherwise allocated to a session. Defaults to 'No'.
Set to Yes to enable the 'Capture' option to perform live capture of scans via USB connected device. By default this is 'No'.
Set to No to disable the 'Reconcile Scans' option. By default this is 'Yes'.
Set to Yes to only show the 'Remove' scan button only to system admin and attendance admin users (in the course reconcile scans tool). Defaults to 'No'.
Set to 'Yes' to enable importing scans from the capture service and additional options will be available. Default No.
