Rollover - Updating reports to bring dates current

If you have automated reports that use fixed dates (instead of relative), then you may want to update these to make sure that they are correct for the upcoming semester. If new Sub Accounts are being added to Canvas, reports may also need to be updated to bring those in (depending on what you are looking to report across)

Accessing others reports

If the reports are saved against another user, you can impersonate them in order to access and updated the reports they have saved against them. Admin -> Staff -> Impersonate

Updating Reports

Navigate to Reports -> My Reports

Then open the report that you would like to update.

Select “Change Criteria” to edit the report parameters.

To edit the subaccounts and the current course that should be reported on, select the Blue box to the right of the “Courses*” label

Check all targeted subaccounts are selected:

The filtering page is likely then setup in a few different ways. If it is setup using dates, and the selection of individual courses, then it will need updating.

Select “Complete Selection” when complete

On the main report setup page, now check the date range that the report is encompassing

Then scroll the bottom of the report settings and select “Show Results”

This will show the updated report. Note that this may be blank if the course have not begun yet.

To overwrite the saved report, select “Save / Schedule”

To overwrite the report that you are updating, make sure that “overwrite existing report” is selected, then select Save.
